The Fireside Grill has a different type of interior that not like a normal restaurant, as this place has an interior that looks like a cozy tavern, where people go to enjoy a hot meal with friends or enjoy a romantic dinner at candlelight. They even have a beautiful patio to dine in on a lovely sunny day.
Today Jan and I got a table on the second floor that has a view of the main hall below where there live music and a huge crowd who are there to for a celebration of life.
The menu has a variety of items to choose from whether for lunch or dinner, at the same time on the opposite side there a massive variety of wines to choose from. However, Jan and I aren't big wine drinkers so we skip the wine page and focus on the lunch menu page. On the lunch menu there a variety of dishes to choose from such as Albacore Tuna Nachos, Seafood Chowder, Clam Linguine and many others. After thinking for a bit I decided to get medium rare Steak Frites while my friend Jan ordered the Caesar Salad with a piece of grilled chicken.
Afterwards, we are given the complimentary dish to start which is fresh bread from the oven with olive oil mixed with balsamic vinegar for dipping. As I’m not used to eating balsamic vinegar my eyes burst awake as I take a bite into the bread which I dipped into the mixture. At the same time, I felt like my mouth expands in amazement at how well this mixture goes with the bread (even though I rarely eat balsamic vinegar). Jan, on the other hand, enjoys the taste as she used to eating balsamic vinegar on bread and salads.
After roughly 20 minutes of waiting our food has arrived. My steak frites have:
chargrilled 6oz piece of flat iron steak in the medium-rare form
green peppercorn demi-glace
seasonal greens
house-cut Kennebec fries
Jan’s Caesar salad got:
generous portion of romaine lettuce
bacon
finely shredded Grana Padano cheese
toasted focaccia croutons
lemon
grilled sliced up chicken
Now it time for us to feast on our lunch delights.
I grab the knife and slice a piece of the flat iron steak and ensuring I get a bit of the peppercorn demi-glace on the meat. As I take a bite I felt an immersive explosion of flavor with a soft texture of the steak. This was the first time in a while that a restaurant got my steak right (being medium rare) and have a soft texture with a rich flavor. I enjoy eating the steak and the veggies balance out the rich taste at the same time. Additionally, the fries were perfectly crispy and I enjoy munching on those in-between eating pieces of the delectable flat iron steak. Indeed it was a very satisfying meal. Meanwhile, Jan is enjoying her Chicken Caesar Salad and she is delighted at the crispy romaine lettuce top a balance of crispy bacon and shredded cheese. The chicken was moist and not dry while being nicely seasoned. In conclusion, our dining experience at the Fireside Grill was very enjoyable and will be back with more DineInSquad members.
Cheers,
AV
