Joining me from the DineInSquad is Jan and Dave as we go for some delicious pub based food. The Four Mile Pub has four businesses built into the building which are a Brewery, a Sports Bar, Pub, and a family restaurant which allows kids to enjoy the delicious food of the Four Mile.

After walking into the entrance for the restaurant we walk into a home wooden décor as the interior design has a heavy emphasis on laminated wood with a fireplace by the waiting area. Thankfully that night was not busy as generally it very busy because of the many parties that happen in the main restaurant. We got our table near the corner of the room which also allows us to utilize so e comfy pillows to lean against as well.

The menu has a variety of dishes to choose from such as chicken wings, burgers, salads, seafood dishes and many others. At the same time there always a seasonal series of dishes like for example when we went in October, the seasonal dishes were based on Oktoberfest. After reviewing the list we decided to get the following appetizers to split: Yorkie Sliders and a pound of Honey Garlic Chicken Wings. For our main dishes, I ordered the Cobb Knob Burger, while Jan got the Wild West Coast Salmon, and Dave ordered the Roast Beef Dinner.

After waiting 15 minutes our food arrives, the Yorkie Sliders were 5 small Yorkies each one is stuffed with roast beef, horseradish and covered in hot gravy.

Meanwhile, the Honey Garlic Wings were a dozen of some of the biggest chicken wings I seen in a while and they are drenched in sweet honey garlic sauce. We quickly get the sharing plates out and distribute them around the table with everyone getting one.

Then it time to feast on our starter dishes, I quickly use my fork and knife to scoop up a Yorkie slider and a drumstick wing to put on my plate. I first cut open the Yorkie slider which allows the horseradish to ooze out and revealing the strips of roast beef within. Seeing the sight of the oozing horseradish mixing with the gravy and the roast beef made me very hungry as I cut a piece of the Yorkie with some roast beef with gravy and horseradish, then I put the mix into my mouth. Next thing I know I felt a tangy explosion in my mouth as the horseradish lights a fire with the soft delicate roast beef melting in a sea of gravy and the Yorkie soaks up the remaining gravy. That was an explosion of taste as I look at both Jan and Dave who also agree that the Yorkie Sliders are delicious.

Next up I pick up the chicken drumstick using a fork as I stare at the shiny coat of the honey garlic sauce on the drumstick as I take a bite in. I was met by a crunchy surface and warm chicken meat underneath mixed with a sweet garlic flavor. It was delicious as I love honey garlic sauce and crispy chicken as it works extremely well. Dave also enjoys the wings but he only had three as he is not fond of sweet stuff while Jan does not eat chicken wings because of the little bones, so he looks like more for me then.

Around the same time, we finish our starters, the main dishes have arrived. Dave's dish consists of the following for his roast beef dinner:

  • Generous slices of Roast beef smothered in gravy

  • Steam vegetables

  • One of the biggest Yorkshire puddings I have ever seen

Jan’s Wild West Coast Salmon dish has the following:

  • Delectable salmon filet that been baked with a butter sauce, garnished with a lemon

  • Garden salad

  • Basmati rice

My Cobb Knob Burger was a crispy chicken breast with the following toppings:

  • sliced avocado

  • cheddar cheese

  • crispy maple bacon

  • basil aioli

  • lettuce

  • tomato

  • pickle

  • onions

Back to another round of feasting, as I take a bite into my burger after struggling to make sure nothing falls out. Next thing you know I took a mouthful of smooth avocado and basil aioli; melted cheese; crunchy bacon, crunchy veggies, and a massive crunch to the chicken. It amazing as I never experience a burger with avocado and basil aioli before. I enjoy the burger as I love how almost everything is crunchy and I love food that crunches. Dave after getting over how massive the Yorkshire pudding was, digs into his food. Dave takes a bite of the roast beef and he is very satisfied at the meat for not being dry. At the same time, he also takes his first crack of the massive Yorkshire, by cutting out a piece of soft moist delight. Dave enjoys his meal as it reminds him of what he makes at home every day: meat, grains, and potatoes.

Jan's was amazed at how big the portion is for her meal, the first thing she did was squeeze the lemon over the fish to help enhance the flavor. Afterwards, she cuts a piece of the filet off, which felt like a hot knife through butter and the juice oozes onto the rice. Jan takes a bite and said that the flavor goes well together with the extra compliment of lemon. Jan’s loves how the salad is not a soggy mess and it has a crunch to it as well, while the rice is not excessively dry so it easy to eat.

Overall the dinner was fantastic at the Four Mile and the DineInSquad looks forward to future visits. Our only advice to those wanting to eat here is that if you have any minors (under 19), we highly recommend that you make a reservation as the restaurant can get busy; while the pub and sports bar do not allow minors in there.

Cheers,

AV
