Welcome back food lovers and let me share with you about the third and final part of my dining experience in Portland, Oregon at Podnah's BBQ located on 1625 NE Killingsworth St.
Podnah’s BBQ is a Texas style barbecue restaurant serves delicious smoked meats with different daily specials like smoked lamb, fried catfish, and many others. It was late in the evening and I was craving something different than what I been eating so I decided I wanted something BBQ related for dinner. After finding a spot to park, I walk inside the restaurant and realize that the place has a wooden interior like a smokehouse, BUT at the same time it was extremely crowded and I was informed the wait time for a table is 30 minutes. I decided since I didn’t want to wait long in a very crowded restaurant so I did take out instead. After doing a quick skim of the dinner menu, since I was very hungry I decided to order the Pit Boss to go. After roughly 15 minutes of waiting my food arrives in a takeout box which I took back to the car and placed in the backseat, to reduce the chances of temptation. I then head back to my hotel which was a 30 minute drive, after finding my parking spot I quickly run upstairs to my room so that I can enjoy my meaty feast. As I got into my room and place the food onto the table I can still smell the smoky warm aroma that constantly teases me since the ride back.
After opening the box I was amazed to see the variety, what was in the box consists of 2 pork ribs, 1 sausage, a quarter pound of pulled pork and a quarter pound of beef brisket, cornbread, and a smoke BBQ sauce.
It looks delicious and the appearance and smell makes it more mouthwatering for me to eat. I grab a fork and scoop up some pulled pork to give a try. As I take a bite I get to relish a moist amount of juicy meat that has a hint of BBQ with it. I then cut up a piece of beef brisket which when I take a bite I got welcomed to a crispy edge and a very juicy inner piece that was delicious, I’m amazed as I don’t commonly eat briskets and I never had a case where it crispy and juicy at the same time. I then try a piece of the pork rib, while picking it up by the bone I watch as the meat slide almost completely off, that tells me that this is will be good as I use my fork to scoop up the dropped meat which tastes fantastic as I love pork ribs. Afterwards I take a bite of the sausage which crunch as I bite into it which of course has a smokey sensation. I decided to dip each of the meats inside the BBQ sauce and next thing you know the flavor and taste gets blasted to the next level as the BBQ sauce make a sensational upgrade. After another 25 minutes of eating, I have finish my feast for dinner.
Overall eating Podnah’s BBQ was a delicious and meaty experience, next time I’m in Portland I try to call and make a reservation so that I can eat in the restaurant the next time.
Cheers,
