MOSAIC GRILLE EXPERIENCE

Hello food lovers, DineInSquad followers and a Happy New Year to all. In our first post for 2019 let me share with you about my dining experience in Vancouver, British Columbia at the Mosaic Grille located on 655 Burrard St.

I called my local friends Cathy and Matt to accompany me on a dining excursion to this fancy restaurant. Mosaic Grille is a restaurant that located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver and serves a variety of fancy meals with a low level view of the city.

As we walk into the restaurant we see an array of booths and comfy chairs with massive windows that allows for viewing out into the streets below. We luckily were able to get a table by the window as we feel it light things up a bit. Afterwards we took a look at the menu to determine what we shall have for lunch. After taking a look at the one page food menu we decided to order the following: the Pan-Seared Seabass for Matt, the Tuna Poke Tacos for me with a side of fries, and Cathy got the custom burger with everything on it with a side of fries as well.

After roughly 30 minutes of waiting our food has arrived, and boy it looks good. The Pan-Seared Seabass had a nice grilled filet on a bed of black quinoa with some fresh almonds and fennel, with some roasted mushrooms, asparagus on the side with a wild garlic vinaigrette drizzled on the vegetables.

My fish tacos had of course raw cuts of tuna with sprinkles of wasabi peas, wakame (seaweed), and Asian coleslaw with a side of fries and pickled ginger.

Cathy’s burger had the following toppings on it between 2 buns and a juicy patty: lettuce, tomato, red onions, a fried egg, white cheddar, brie cheese, sautéed mushrooms, bacon, and avocado; with a side of fries.

Now that all our food has arrived it time to enjoy these delectable entrees. I grab hold of one of my fish tacos and take a bite in. I was met by a variety of flavors and textures such as the spicy wasabi peas that goes well with the raw tuna followed by the crunch from the Asian coleslaw. It was delicious and each bite continues to have a combination of crunch and spiciness. Meanwhile at the same time I was amazed and shocked that the burger Cathy ordered could contain so many toppings with so much goodness at the same time. I watch in shock as Cathy manages to take a bite out of this overstuffed burger and somehow manage to get a bit of everything (“the perfect bite”). I can tell just by the look on Cathy’s face that she really enjoying her burger. Matt was eating his sea bass and he shared how the fish has a crispy exterior but yet the meat is still very soft when being chew. Additionally the wild garlic vinaigrette helps enhance the taste of the vegetables when eaten together which make the entrée feel satisfying.

Overall our lunch excursion at the Mosaic Grille was a fantastic one, and a place we will look forward to eating at in future visits.

Cheers,

AV
